It’s been said that the only constant in life is change, and the CMA Collection galleries are changing again. During her nearly three decades with the museum, Collection Specialist Noelle Nelson has worked on over 245 collection and exhibition installations. Concentrating on a few signature pieces, Nelson discusses her personal experiences from a curatorial point of view, centering questions and challenges she and her teammates face with any new installation — no matter what the scale — including object condition and conservation, temporary storage concerns, object research and attribution, and all the little surprises that come up along the way.
Informed by our roles as museum workers and artists, What We See is a staff-led series of talks that look at art through personal perspectives. Join us as we share our stories and prepare to say "farewell for now" to the CMA Collection galleries.
