Can engaging body awareness facilitate humane connections between people? In this mixed-reality performance led by Ashlee Daniels Taylor, the audience interacts with performers and abstracted digital projections of themselves. This immersive experience invites participants to explore somatic techniques that stimulate body awareness, improvisational movement, and digital technology to generate emergent possibilities for performance. Free.
Moving Body Dance Company member and collaborator Ashlee Daniels Taylor is an interdisciplinary artist specializing in somatics, dance performance, and interactive media design. Taylor is concerned with creating dialogue around somatic practices of cultivating body awareness and how that can reveal our interconnectedness. Taylor received an MFA in dance with an interdisciplinary specialization in fine arts from Ohio State University. Taylor’s creative research employs rigorous athletic movement, improvisation, and somatic investigation to explore notions of experience and collaborative processes. Through choreographic research, Taylor strives to stimulate body awareness to encourage personal well-being and foster connections between individuals to strengthen our communities.
