Friends of African American Art & Culture 2021 Annual Meeting
Thursday, June 3 | 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. | Tours at 6:00, 6:45, and 7:30 p.m.
Join CMA affinity group Friends of African American Art & Culture (FAAAC) to celebrate their 10th anniversary. Meet and mingle with FAAAC board members during a reception on Boyd Plaza and enjoy appetizers, a cash bar, and curated tours of African American art on view in the CMA collection.
Tours are led by Dr. Nancy Tolson, FAAAC board member, CMA docent, storyteller, and assistant director of African American Studies at the University of South Carolina. The tour features newly acquired works by African American artists including self -proclaimed ghetto potter Roberto Lugo, native South Carolinian Winston Wingo, sculptor and graphic artist Elizabeth Catlett, and mixed-media artist Sam Middleton.
