Focus on Photography

Ages 13 – 18
Teens learn to improve their photography skills no matter the kind of camera. Explore composition in the exhibition The Ironic Curtain and the CMA collection and by shooting images in and around the museum. Plus, learn how to mat finished pieces. Participants must provide their own camera. Instructor: Sara McGregor. Capacities are limited to allow for physical distancing in the CMA studios; face coverings are required.

Sara McGregor is a visual arts teacher at River Bluff High School, where her classes include Digital Photography 1 and 2 and Art 1. McGregor is a graduate of UofSC with a Master of Arts in Teaching in art education and the College of Charleston with a Bachelor of Arts degree in arts management. Her photographs have been exhibited at the CMA, UofSC, and the Halsey Institute of Contemporary Art “Young Contemporaries,” a jury-selected exhibition.
