Art Class: Hand Building Basics

Create a variety of functional ceramics using slab construction methods and embellish their surfaces with texture and glaze, all while taking inspiration from the CMA collection galleries. Taught by Blakely Sheely, who earned a BFA from Winthrop University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Lander University. Sheely is a National Board-Certified 3D art educator at Dutch Fork High School, where she has taught sculpture for 10 years, and a working artist in fiber, metals, ceramics, and jewelry. All materials and equipment provided. Ages 15 and up. Face coverings required .
