How can I become a member of the CMA?
You can purchase a membership online, by phone at 803-343-2198, in person by visiting the museum at 1515 Main Street, or by mail by sending your payment to the following address:

I don’t know my login information, but want to renew my membership online. How can I reset my login? 
Resetting your login is simple.  After signing in, click the “Forgot your password?” link in the middle of the page and a new one will be sent to your email. If you’re still having problems, please call the membership office at 803-343-2198

Can I get into the CMA if I forget my card?
Sure!  Our front desk has access to our membership database.  Simply share your name and they will confirm your membership!

My membership card has been lost or stolen. Can I get a new one?
Absolutely! Just call the membership office at 803-343-2198 or send an email to membership@columbiamuseum.org and we will promptly replace any lost or stolen membership card. If you wish to visit the museum, we have your membership on file, so just come in and give the front desk your name and membership status to let you in.

I am an individual member of CMA. May I bring a guest to a members-only event?
Individual memberships admit one person to the museum for admission and all free events. You are invited to bring a guest on special occasions like Members Appreciation Days. If you would like to upgrade your membership and bring a guest with you more often, please contact the membership office at 803-343-2198.

I am interested in upgrading my membership to a higher level. Do I have to wait until my membership expires?
No. To upgrade or add an affiliate membership, simply call the membership office and we will process your additional payment to upgrade your membership today. Call 803-343-2198.

What is the duration of membership?
Memberships are good for one year from the day the payment is processed.

What is reciprocal membership?
As a member of the CMA, you receive free or reduced admission and museum shop discounts at a number of other museums. Individual and Dual/Family members receive reciprocal privileges through SERM (Southeastern Reciprocal Membership), and Patron and above receive reciprocal privileges through NARM (North Amerian Reciprocal Museum Association)

How long does it take to get a permanent membership card after I send in my payment?
It typically takes between 2-3 weeks to receive your membership card. Your membership is active within a week after receipt of your membership payment and immediately if you purchase your membership online or at the front desk. 

Where do I show my membership card?
Just show your membership card to the visitors services desk for free admission, and/or in the CMA Shop to get your 10% off discount.

Is my membership gift tax-deductible?
All general memberships to the museum are 100% tax deductible.

Can I add an affiliate membership to my current membership? 
Yes!  Follow this link for a list and descriptions of our affiliate membership groups.

Do I need to be a member of the CMA to join an affiliate group?
Yes. Affiliate groups are add-ons to our general and premier membership programs. 

I want to purchase a gift membership for someone, how can I do this? What if they have an existing membership, will they get a second membership?
If you wish to give the gift of CMA membership, check the “This Membership is a gift” box.  If the person receiving the membership is already a member, it will add a year to their existing membership so long as it is the same type of membership. If you’d like more information, please call the membership office at 803-343-2198.

If I buy a Dual/Family level membership, who can I add as the second member?
You may add anyone as a second member on a Dual/Family membership - many members designate a spouse, a family member, or a friend! You are welcome to leave the second member open and just bring a guest with you each time you come. 

How can I update my contact information?
The membership office, reachable at 803-343-2198 or membership@columbiamuseum.org, will promptly process all requests for changes in contact information.

How do I make a charitable contribution to the CMA?
If purchasing a membership you can add a donation to that purchase, or you can make a 100% tax-deductible charitable donation here. You can also make a donation by phone at 803-343-2198, in person by visiting the museum at 1515 Main Street, or by mail by sending your payment to the following address:
