From Bawdy Boucher to Moody Monet: The Expressive Use of ColorWednesday, September 2510:00 a.m. From Bawdy Boucher to Moody Monet: The Expressive Use of Color
This four-week lecture series highlights the use of color by artists in four major artistic movements: Rococo, Neoclassicism, Romanticism and Impressionism. Whether flirtatious and fanciful or evocative and elegiac, color plays an important role in painting for the artist as well as the viewer. Join CMA Curator Victoria Cooke as she discusses this interesting topic. Cooke studied at the University of Delaware with a focus on the history of art and architecture in Europe. She is a published author, popular speaker and has taught art history at the college level.
