Small presented the world premiere of The Rothko Room: Journey in Silence in February 2011 at The Phillips Collection in Washington, D.C. He is a Steinway artist who performs original compositions, classical and contemporary works. He is the piano department chair of the Washington Conservatory of Music in Bethesda, Maryland.
