The Beer

Carolina Brewing

This brilliant red ale, brewed with caramel and pale malts is a best seller at the Carolina Brewery. Using traditional brewing methods, the ale yeast provides a touch of fruit and works in tandem with the malt to make for a very drinkable ale. Kent Golding hops lend just enough bitterness and aroma to round out the flavor.

The Bands

9:00 Company

Central to Company’s sound is the ethereal voice of singer / songwriter Brian Hannon. He manages to make Company sound as if Nick Drake was fronting both Big Star and Fleet Foxes. Giant hooks, unforgettable choruses, and a feeling of import are stamped on every song on Dear America,. The songs evoke elements of My Morning Jacket and Band of Horses. Tasteful instrumentation compliments each of the songs brilliantly and allows Company to seamlessly transition from intimate acoustic songs (“Bound to Drop the Ball”), to arena-sized numbers (“Opening Night”), and Americana-drenched (“When We’re 49”) without missing a beat.

8:00 The Unawares

"The Unawares pack a lot of musicality, frustration, and commentary into very dense and concise outbursts. Each strange song on Pinkie Green is a winner."

- T. Ballard Lesemann, Charleston City Paper

"The Unawares, Pinkie Greene Raw, unassuming, yet immediate and melodic."

- Kevin Oliver, Music That Matters Best Local of 2009

"The Unawares, best live Rock band in South Carolina, hands down."

- Josh Smith of The Columbia Beet, Free Times

"With short, sharp, melodic songs, the high-energy three-piece takes over a stage and a room.”

- E. Moore, Free Times

"Together since 2006, The Unawares play a spastic version of garage rock that’s closer to the Minutemen or the No Wave bands of NYC like James Chance and the Contortions than anything else I’ve heard lately."

- Kevin Oliver, Music That Matters

7:20 Sans Jose

Sans Jose plays rock 'n' roll with flares of surf, garage, punk that takes your mind on psychedelic sonic trips. The band started in 2009 when friends came together with a few ideas. The band was called Go For Launch until February 2012, around the same time the first EP was recorded in one night. The five-song EP is a homemade live recording and is just over 10 minutes long.
